I found your new blog through Robin L. Rotham's blog and love it! Hope you don't mind that I put a link on my Blogroll, Prairie Communications. Thanks.

Hi Elizabeth,
nice to see you here! I enjoy Robin's blog too, tho I'm more of a lurker than a poster. And thanks for the link--we'll be updating our links too as we make new friends.

Oh I love the title 'The Spiced Tea Party'. It's cute. A great contest to be sure.

Oh dear, the "crumpet strumpet" comment is making me think of all sorts of dirty tea party talk...Nina Simone is crooning, "I need some sugar in my bowl," and everyone's spreading double Devon cream on their...oh dear.

Thanks for hosting this blog, erotic historical romance goddesses. I will be a frequent worshipper, er, guest.

Pam R.--do you ever go to Lovejoy's Tea Room on Church St.? I used to adore going there for a cuppa, of the non-spiced variety, when I lived in SF.

LOL! Lenora.

Hi Lenora, yes I have gone to Lovejoy's. Great fun. A friend of mine adores organizing tea parties there, though the conversation at those is tamer than around these environs. Perhaps next year, when Romance Writers of America has its National Convention in San Francisco, we can have a little crumpet strumpet party at Lovejoy's (it has a new location, btw, a few blocks south of 24th).

And I giggle every time I think of the "crumpet strumpet," meljprincess. Brilliant.

I'm loving the historical focus here!

I've added the link to my blog roll so I can check daily.

Oh, and San Fran will be my first big RWA event! I'm so there!

Hi Pam, I'm missing this year's RWA convention because I'm living in Asia, but I'm so excited about the San Francisco one. And a Crumpet Strumpet Tea Party at Lovejoys? That would make my year!

Do tell me what crumpets are? Any idea what they are made of? I know they were always eaten during those tea times! I always wondered what they tasted and looked like!

Crumpets are lovely. Toasted with jam and butter, scrumptious. They are thick and yummy, circular in shape with small holes on the top and delish.

A Crumpet Strumpet Tea Party in San Francisco 2008 sounds fantastic.

Atlanta was my first RWA National. I'll be going to Dallas. But SF is my home town! (We do know how to have a good time in an aesthetically pleasing city.) ;-j

Glad you're loving the blog, Pearl. Hope to see you in Dallas, Jane, you rare thing, a native San Franciscan (my son's a native, but he moved to NY, where Michael and I come from).
